Wilderness First Aid Courses

Hybrid Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Course

We just canceled the WFR for this year. We will try again in 2027. Next year, we will run a hybrid course that will meet once a week (probably Friday) in March and April and then finish with 2-3 days of training in May.

WEMT Module Course

We will spend the week at Conestoga Campground in Grand Haven, MI. Students may elect to stay at the campground, but it is not a requirement. We will be joined by licensed hybrid WFR students. Generally, we will begin the day with a discussion of medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, or the administration of a summer camp medical clinic. We spend most of the afternoon running scenarios. We will practice knot-tying, fire-making, obtaining water, building stretchers, land navigation with an orienteering compass, and constructing shelters.
