Health Officer (HO) Training is an 8-hour, hands-on supplemental to Wilderness First Aid designed for Michigan summer camps. This course, along with a WFA course, prepares staff to administer a compliant, well-organized health program—not merely to provide first aid. You’ll learn camp-ready systems for intake screening, secure medication receipt and storage, safe administration and documentation (MARs), missed-dose/PRN procedures, and clear escalation pathways for parent notification, consultation, EMS activation, transport planning, and required reporting timelines. Training includes realistic camp scenarios, documentation drills, and practical workflows that can be applied immediately.
